Hi I'm Greg

I joined the LDS Church when is was 18. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a father of three girls and nine boys. My wife is my best friend. I have also been a Manufacturing Engineer for over 20 years.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints has the most Truth of any church or religion upon the face of the earth. I first learned this at the age of eighteen years, just one month before I graduated from High School. When I was 11 years old my parents moved us down to Mesa, Arizona. That was back in 1968. After about 7 years in Mesa, Arizona I decided to take the Mormon missionary lessons so that I could date a Mormon girl that I liked at the time. I even told the girl that I would never join her church. She said that her parents only wanted me to take the lessons and that I didn’t need to join their church. After about 3 lessons I surprised both her and myself by saying that I wanted to be baptized. During the third lesson the missionaries asked me how I felt about their teachings. I replied by saying that what they taught sounded logical. They surprised me by saying that they didn’t want me to join their church just because it was logical. They told me that I should feel that it was True. At that time in my life I was driven more by logic than anything else. Therefore, I didn’t understand what they meant. They explained that I should ask Heavenly Father whether the teachings were True or not. They told me that the Holy Ghost would tell my heart and my spirit that the things were True. I still didn’t understand. They asked me to pray with them. They asked me to do the praying. I declined and asked them to pray for me. We knelt together and the big Native American missionary from Canada did the praying. His companion was from Idaho. As the missionary was praying, I felt that I should open my eyes to see who he was praying to. I felt like he was praying to someone who was right there with us. His prayer was very powerful. After he asked Heavenly Father to tell me that Joseph Smith was truly a Prophet and that their message was True, I felt a strange feeling in my breast start growing. When the missionary said Amen, the feeling exploded and filled my entire being. They got up from the prayer. However, I could not move. The feeling was so strong that I could not move. The big missionary explained to me how the Holy Ghost works and told me that the Holy Ghost was telling me that their message was True. When he said that, the feeling got even stronger. At the time, I never felt like I was searching for the Lord. However, He certainly wanted me for something. Within a few weeks I was baptized. I could not deny those feelings. I knew during that prayer and know now that their teachings were and are most definitely True. Since then, I have never doubted those Truths. I have been a Mormon for over 35 years now. The more that I study the gospel, the more that my testimony grows. And whenever I have needed reassurance from the Lord, the Holy Ghost would always come and tell me what I needed to know and feel. I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints has more Truth than any other religion and/or philosophy upon the face of this Earth. I also know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints has been restored to the Earth in order to bring all of us back to our Heavenly Father through the Atoning sacrifice of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. There is no other way back to our Heavenly Father. I also believe that other churches and religions have Truth in them. Therefore, I like to teach others by building upon the Truths that they already have. I say this in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

How I live my faith

I was once told that all the Lord really needs is an example. Therefore, I try to be the best example that I can be 24 hours a day , 7 days a week. I try to do all that I can to serve my Lord Jesus Christ, no matter what it is He wants me to do.

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

The Atonement of Jesus Christ is the single greatest act of Love by anyone who has ever lived. It was necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life for everyone who lives or has ever lived. It is an important part of our Heavenly Father's plan. If Jesus had not done this, we would all be lost forever. Show more Show less
