Hi I'm Brenda Dee

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Married for 30 years. Five children. Two grandchildren. Love to hike, backpack, camp, & geocache.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I met a young man in high school who was Mormon and as I got to know him and his family I was able to tell there was something different about them. I could feel it when I was in their home. The young man had high morals and standards that he lived by. I felt love and peace when I was with his family. I wanted to know about the church they belonged to. As the missionaries taught me about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints I was amazed at how much everything they said made sense. When they suggested that I read the Book of Mormon and pray to know if it was true I had faith that Heavenly Father would answer my prayer. I knew that if I asked for His help He would give it to me. When said that prayer, I got an even greater feeling of peace in my heart and in my mind. I knew that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints was the Lord's restored church and that Joseph Smith was a prophet and that the Book of Mormon was the work of God. There was no doubt in my mind and within a few weeks I was baptized.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying every day to live as my Savior Jesus Christ. To serve God with my heart, might, mind and strength. By being charitable and kind. I accepted an assignment to teach a class of high school sophomores who are Mormon an early morning seminary class. Every day at 6:15am I get to share the Gospel with them. And they share their thoughts and insights with me too. As a member of this Church, I have had many different opportunities to serve. I have worked in the Nursery on Sundays caring for the very small children. I have been a den leader in Cub Scouts. I have taught in the group where the young women ages 12-18 meet together. I have given talks in front of the congregation on Sundays. I have been able to take in meals to people and families that are having trouble. I get to go regularly to the temple to do work there that helps my ancestors. I have been able to gather family history information. And I could go on. All of these activities have blessed my life. They have helped me to feel closer to Jesus Christ. They have helped me forget about my self and think more about others. They have helped me develop faith in the Lord. The small sacrifices I make help me to remember the supreme sacrifice that Jesus Christ made for me.
