Hi I'm Chip

Born and raised in Connecticut, life long love of emergency service. My family is the foundation to which I stand. I'm a Mormon!!!

About Me

I'm a husband to a wonderful woman, father to two great teenage boys, one of which is on a mission, and much to my family's dismay, I'm a HUGE Nascar fan, GO Jeff Gordon !!! I have been involved in emergency services since I was 16, serving as a volunteer fireman, ambulance attendant and now as a Police Officer for the past 23 years. I love the excitement of going into a uncontrolled situation and restoring order ( much like the Mormon Church does in peoples lives ).

Why I am a Mormon

Ever since I was a child, going to church was not on the top of my list of Sunday activities and that continued into my adult life. Six years ago, my oldest son, at the age of 14 slept over at his best friend's house on a Saturday night, and was invited to go to church with his family the next morning. When our son came home that Sunday afternoon he was so full of excitement but not from sleeping over at his friend's house, but from the experiance he had at church. He could not wait to go back the following Sunday, and did continue to go to church with his friend's family for the next several weeks. During that time, my younger son saw the change in his brother and asked if he could also go to Church. My wife and I were wondering what is up with this Church, and she felt that we all should go and check it out, but I was stubborn I stayed home. After several months I saw a wonderful change in my family , they told me of the special feelings they had when they were in church and that this is the true church. That is when I finally decided to go and see what my family was talking about. The first Sunday I attended church I went with a negative frame of mind, but I soon began to feel different. Then and now, those negative feelings were replaced with a feeling of peace and security each Sunday thereafter. Those feelings continue to grow and I can't imagine life without the Church. Words can't explain the impact the Church and faith have had on my family. The Church has become a central point in all of us, the way we live, love, serve, and face the big and small challenges in our everyday lives.

How I live my faith

Commitment is a great word to explain it, not that I wasn't committed to my wife and family before, but now I have them between myself and God. Commitments that mean so very much to me, that now help guide my life, and the set of values that I live by day to day. Now when I have to make decisions they come so much easier when I base it on my commitment and on the of values and standards I have set for myself to live by.
